Since I only have Kindle for my laptop at the moment, her story has convinced me to pop for an actual hand-held Kindle. And guess what? Amazon is now offering one for $79! But back to the review of this sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes laugh-out-loud work of fiction...Susie's life is falling apart at the seams. She lost her lucrative job, is struggling to make ends meet with a part time job at a sandwich shop while her husband works overtime as a cop, and then she's hit by a drunk driver. Their only car is totaled. Hospital bills are out of this world expensive, as she'd spent a short time in a coma. Back home, Susie sinks into deep depression. Her situation seems hopeless. They will likely lose their house to forclosure.
Enter three very determined friends. Claire, Laura and Becca show up and almost literally drag Susie back out into the world. At least for lunch. During lunch the four hatch an idea to rob banks. Yes... you read that correctly. Since Susie's husband is a cop, they have to plan every detail very carefully.
I don't want to give away any more of the story, and encourage you to read if for yourself. It's the kind of story that will remain with you long after you've finished the final paragraphs. It may even inspire you! Not to rob banks, but to view your own struggles differently. I just loved this story!

This book had me at the opening line! "Does this gun make me look fat?"! She hooks her readers, every time, from the very beginning. Can't wait for the next book!
I read Four Lucy Fight Club last night and could not put it down. I loved it from beginning to end! Carolyn La Roche has a special gift of grabbing the reader in the opening paragraphs and instantly making the reader care about the characters and want to know more about them and the story. I felt like a participant, not just a reader. I highly recommend this book and all of Carolyn La Roche's books!
