A 'dummies' book really is just an overview, after all. And this is for ALL digital photography, not DSLRs specific. So, don't expect too much.

lost 1 star, since other 'dummies' books I have, work great as a quick reference... this one doesn't quite measure up because it doesn't cover as much in depth. For instance, more information about setting aperture would have been nice, beyond the mechanics of pushing this button and twisting that dial, such as what/when to use which aperture setting.

I was pleasantly surprised to buy a used book in such nice condition. You could not tell that it was used at all. I am completely satisfied with it and it is serving it's purpose well. Very fast shipping and I couldn't be more pleased with it.

This is a good buck for you when you upgrade to a new digital camera. It helped a lot. Cheaper than taking a 18 hour class.
The book is fine if you have never ever held a camera in your hands. It's very basic, and more of the book is about editing photos than actually taking them. It's not you regular "for dummies" book that is big, this is more of a mini version.
Great intorduction to digital photography, easy to read and understand. DVD shows you step to step towards better photographs. In just a few short minutes I've learned a great deal about my camera and how to use all the settings and features to the best advantage. Would highly recommend and it is a great price!
Covers the basics of digital camera use. I bought this for a friend that I gave and old Cannon SLR. She had never done any SLR cameras before. I also gave her an old Minolta SLR with a 28-200 zoom lens, thinking using the film camera would help thinking about things like shutter speed, film speed, f-stop. She went straight to the digital using this. I'm sure she is using the icons on the camera instead of shooting manual on the digital. This book and DVD did help giving her a quick start!
